Just wanted to mention that I still have this bug on Ubuntu 10.4 after
installing KDE onto of Gnome, affeting only the tooltis in KDE aliation
when loggen into a Gnome-Session. See this related forum ost:

Just to confirm the fix:
Until 5 minutes ago I was running 2.30.0-0ub and the document in #1
crashes and the document in #5 (which I reported myself back then)
surprisingly opens fine.
Now updated to 2.30.1-0ubuntu3 and both files work fine now.

evince crashed after opening an encrypted pdf
Sorry, I did not yet do the necessary steps to obtain a backtrace. But I
can add the following information which might hopefully help.
Sometimes, Evolution randomly decides to do some stuff in the Background
and then takes up a lot of CPU time and produces a high number of disk
accesses. This
I can confirm this bug and have attached another pdf which triggers the
crash. The password is fightforyourright. Interestingly, the pdf is
shown properly for 0,5 seconds before evince disappears.
Right now, there are about 20 users around me running Ubuntu 9.10, they
can all open the document.
