The files attached at the initial post were generated when the error
occured. I now attach the last lines from the Xorg.0.log after a login,
where the error is present. The entries starting with 39.538 were logged
after toggling the console from #1 and back to #7. In the last line a
touchpad ist

I run 12.04 on a macbook air 5,2.
Occasionally (50%) my touchpad is not working prior and after login. The
keyboard shows behaviour like described in bug #1029203. A mouse
attached via usb works without problems.
A workaround is to switch to another console (Ctrl+Alt+F1)
