as of this moment Feb. 7th 2010 the back and to buttons DO NOT WORK in
Thunderbird email.. I like the other poster suffer the problem of 'Greyed out
buttons' . and ALL the time..

I have the same problem. The forward and backward buttons at the top of
the screen are grayed out, and the F and B buttons don't work.
But the problem is intermittent, and I can't correlate it with anything
else. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

open an existing email and add the "back" and "forwards" buttons to your
toolbar, do they work as you would expect them too.
