There have been some significant improvements with -intel on Jaunty. Can you please test against Jaunty Alpha 4 or newer? When you test, please check both EXA and UXA AccelMethod's. I suspect this may be a mesa bug rather than -intel but we'll leave it here for the time being. ** Changed in:

Just found out that Compiz itself is also not without any problems: When you do Alt-Tab the icons in the lower right corner of the minimized windows are sometimes distorted. Having done one more experiment: Turning off Compiz, Google Earth becomes somewhat usable again and the glxgears canvas

Hey, I can confirm the problems running Ubuntu 8.10 on a Dell Latitude D830 with a GMA 965. Frame rates in glxgears are just at about 600 fps, Google Earth shows distorted images (like in the screenshots of the earlier bug reports), Compiz works okay as long as one does not try to move a window
