I think there is a workaround for this problem as I believe it's related
to bug 455544 which occurs when the bandwidth preferences are set to the
defaults. If you delete ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf and restart
the Ubuntu One client, you should be able to connect.

I've installed ubuntuone on 9.04, I could work for a time but after some
day I was'nt able to connect so I've upgraded to 9.10 today, reinstalled
all ubuntuone with a fresh install and still can't connect. So I'vre

I found what my issue was: I don't use NetworkManager. Upon launching
ubuntuone-client-applet from the terminal, I saw the output:

According to the install instructions:
A web page will launch after clicking Ubuntu One in the previous step
(see the image below). Simply click on 'Add this Computer'.
I never saw that web page. Maybe I closed it by accident without
noticing. In any case I haven't been able to coax the app into
After some further fiddling around and about to give up I quit the
software and re-opened it and this time it triggered the add-computer
page.
Would be nice to see a manual option for those having trouble. It would
have saved me a morning of frustration.

Same here. Was working fine in KDE with correct dependencies; however
upon a fresh install, my web account still had info from a previous
install. I deleted that with the intention of adding my computer with
the fresh install's credentials. Sadly, Ubuntu One never prompted to add
this computer,
