Same problem with my Ubuntu 10.4. I had no problem until upgrading to
10.4. And now, all my OpenOffice documents print with a light yellow
background (Epson AcuLaserC2000). The fix proposed by vxxzy worked
perfectly for me also. Thanx!

Hi,
the same here with Ubuntu 10.4 amd64, hplip installed, printer HP Business
Inkjet 1200.
Yellow background when printing hp scanned pdf's (scanned in windows, no linux
driver) with adobe reader.
The fix by vxxxzy solved this problem for me, too. Many thanks!

This fix worked for me as well (HP OJP 8500 A909a). But be careful
with the double quotes! Do not just comment out the rest of the line:
-dPDFSETTINGS=/printer# -dUseCIEColor
^ be sure to put this
back!

I have installed this fix on 7 machines so far, and they are all doing
fine with no problems printing on any printer or creating pdf's in
cups-pdf! :)

When the updates are run it 'should' fix the issue; however it may be
best to keep watch on what is being updated.
If you see an update for ghostscript, pstopdf, cups, lpr, etc...

still works fine also. I would assume that once the real fix is out, my
Ubuntu updates would update things. Is this a correct assumption?

Additional printers affected: The HP Photosmart C309 in Ubuntu 10.04 is
doing the same thing. The HP 3845 also does it, but it is very faint as
compared to the K5400, 8000, 8500, and C309. It is about like the HP
