I just want to add that I had this problem often on my dualboot laptop
running Edgy and Feisty. The problem went away at some point and hasn't
been back. My system always worked fine, so used to often force a skip
of the check on my FAT32 drive(s). Not advisable though. Just thought
I'd mention
I have similar errors but i get an output:
sudo dosfsck -v -n /dev/sda1
dosfsck 2.11 (12 Mar 2005)
dosfsck 2.11, 12 Mar 2005, FAT32, LFN
Checking we can access the last sector of the filesystem
There are differences between boot sector and its backup.
Differences: (offset:original/backup)
I checked the BIOS, and there's nothing about LBA in the BIOS.

Feisty Fawn has fsck v1.40-WIP (14-Nov-2006) and dosfsck 2.11 (12 Mar
2005), so maybe this bug is already fixed... have you tried it at feisty
yet ?

you are using, because recently a few bugs were fixed in Feisty's
version.
