e280 never stopped working on my laptop running Hardy, yet the vendor ID
in the 10-usb-music-players.fdi file is listed as 0x781. Very strange.

Ok, this is certainly a kernel issue. After changing over to Fedora's
2.6.29.1-111 kernel, the issue has gone away.

We have deployed 2.6.27-14 on the KVM host. As a caveat we had to add
rootdelay=200 to the kernel options as the FC attached storage didn't
configure quickly enough for the root fs to be found.
This machine is hosting 14 VMs so it's I/O load can be very heavy at

manager took _very_ long time to load (judging by dmesg, kernel is

This is probably not helpful, but for some reason on my dell 1420
inspiron audacity somehow started taking input from the microphone at
the proper volume levels (not the low ones I normally see).
