Actually I misread that initially, it's not plasma any more for me. I
apparently have another memory leak. X itself. xrestop reports 25M of
pixmap yet X itself is using 680m according to top.
Any event - disregard my claim that plasma still has a leak.

I tried booting to the old kernel too.
It didn't work!
When I dug into it more I found that the update had turned off all my
sound controls except playback, removed my ubuntu sounds and changed
my default hardware for sound.
Once I fixed all of this back to the way it was, all was well.

I created a new user on my machine, and tried keyboard resizing in the
default environment. This worked fine, but then, it was all being done
with appearance/visual effects set to normal, not none. In
normal visual effects (some level of compiz, I guess), the window
resize is done with a shadow;

Someone just added the CVE link to this bug. Was it a mistake? That CVE
is for a buffer overrun security flaw in the Owl/BarnOwl instant
messaging client.
This bug still affects me after several re-installs of Jaunty final.

qt4-dev-tools now recommends qt4-doc, so it will be pulled in by default
if one tries to install it. It probably won't be made a depends since
the package is somewhat large and isn't required for most of qt4-dev-
tools. (That way you can install qt4-dev-tools with --no-install-

The notification could be disabled when viewing fullscreen videos. Looks

Well, I booted into my ultimate .30 kernel this afternoon and DRM is
okay (though AIGLX calling of driver entry point still fails), so it
appears it was the .29 generic kernel causing last night's problems.
I have two 2.6.30 kernels (had a problem with kernel checker so I ended
