on my father's system with BCM4312, the output of rfkill list all is

(Intel)- same problem: suspend and hibernate do not shutdown - however,
suprised that a reboot returned with DebanMint on sda1 although I am
sure I booted xubuntu Nappy on sda2.
I never tried LinuxMint before. looks like
Wine in precise is 64-bit by default. That was my problem with dotnet20
and vcrun2010. Both installers detected 64-bit windows and refused to
continue. That means that winetricks is broken since it tries to install
32-bit libraries.

startup script from my lightdm config in case it was xbacklight screwing

Don't you have ubuntu tweak installed? If so, don't you have set under
Tweaks Session indicator Disable lock screen? If unsetting it
corrects your problem, could you set this to invalid? Otherwise, set it
to confirmed.
