Hardy Heron Alpha4 was recently released. It contains an updated version
of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha4
release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-4/ . You
should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you can,

After the upgrade (after the xgl issues and compiz is once again
usable). It seems compiz is quite sluggish. Opening new windows remain
black for a little longer. The windows feel more sluggish. Personally i
think the version BEFORE the xgl bug

I have the same problem on two clean gutsy installs.
One is a Destop with nvidia cards and the other a Laptop with Intel GMA.
xset q shows the times being reset to zero after a while.
This bug is very old and apparently nobody gives a shit.
Its absurd and embarrasing that Linux is not capable to
umview has built now.

I'm afraid so. Those five buttons in Evolution make a click-sound twice when
clicked.
I discovered the same behaviour with the Open toolbar-button (next to New)
in gedit.

DPMS works on neither of them, no matter what i do with gnome-screensaver or
gnome-power-manager, the screen never turns off.

I have Asustek M6VA Laptop and Ati Mobility Radeon X700 graphic card. I
have reported about errors of it in Ubuntu Hardy before this. One error
is white and brown lines in place what is been window. Refreshing of
display is very slow, too. I have screenshot.

According to man trickle, -u sets a limit for uploading -d sets for
downloading. Maybe you want to use trickle -d 8?
