I have to add my 2c. Just got a new system. Installed ubuntu with
fakeraid. As above, have to type dmraid -ay at prompt and exit to
boot.
System otherwise runs fine.
Intrepid on 2.6.27-14 generic kernel.
I also had to manually load the modules during the installation process
(alt installer CD).

If your machine ran stable with 8.10, wouldn't that be the logical OS
and version to regress to if you're having problems with 9.04?

i couldn't believe this bug is almost 3 years old, they have low
resources, i agree, they have some major things to fix i agree, but dude

I am happy to see that this gets included (actually I saw it yesterday
in the newletter). I agree with will_in_wi, a smooth transition of the
different stages would be great. Even if we neglect the grub2 part, the
rest could still be more in sync :-) by the way this is definitely not
a killer

Sometimes when I resume from suspend, there's a long wait and then I get the
login screen and everything which was there when I suspended is lost.
I've not managed to find a reproducible set of circumstances for the first
occurence of the problem after a reboot however once
Approved.
