It seems the conflicts have to do with the different systems like 32bit and
64bit etc, which is because the package is multiarch.
So there should be no problems with my package at all...
Your bug seems to be caused by something else. Please try the steps I already
mentioned to fix it and report
Workaround is to manually install the drivers via apt-get.
For the lockup/garbage you have to raise a seperate bug report.

I tried using live USB creator to create an Ubuntu 12.04 i386 Live USB
but firstly it couldn't format the drive. It returnd the following error
message:
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply. Possible
causes include: the remote application did not send
For the moment I no longer run Ubuntu as my default OS. But I managed to
work around the issue by using the binary amd catalyst driver. You can

Ok I have just installed 3.13.0-031300rc7-generic and now on resume the
brightness is set to full but the keyboard buttons to control brightness
turn the backlight on or off. They do not change the birghtness in
increments like before resuming the machine.

My laptop touchpad stopped working after a kernel upgrade 2 days ago, it

When starting electrisheep via xscreensaver-demo, it spawns mplayer processes
(I have a dual screen setup) but only black screens are displayed. When
launching from the commandline, via electricsheep --debug 1 it downloads new
sheep but does not open any player window,

@Kyle Fazzari - it turns out that my laptop has an Alps touchpad rather
than a Cypress one, so the fix would have no effect for me anyway..
Searching for the error message had brought me here, so I presumed it
was the same issue. I've opened up a separate bug for the Alps touchpad
(see #1258837).
syslog shows the following line when electricsheep --debug 1 is
started:
