This worked for me. I had a unused Fiber NIC still installed and removed it.
FYI: NIC Had LSI Chip (L2A1157) and I have a Nvidia Quadro FX 4800/PCIe/SSE2

It's my lucky day. Pulseaudio has failed several times today. I see
this in syslog for only one of the failures:
$ grep -Ei "alsa|pulseaudio|usb" /var/log/syslog
