Building it from source is as easy as downloading the latest source
tarball (2.1.7 is about to be released) and performing sudo python
setup.py install in the extracted source directory. Since 11.10 is a

Unfortunately manually. Again because of Ubuntu vs Fedora update policy
(Ubuntu freezes package until next release whereas Fedora works closer
to upstream and is more keen on releasing minor updates), chances to get
a backport update are very low. That's what PPA are made for. Again this
is Ubuntu
Same here, whereas sound level is normal on Centos 6 (kernel 2.6.32).
Same observation as Lee, newer distro all have this issue. Maybe a
permanent fix won't make it to this release but a documented workaround
(if any exists) would be more than welcome.

missing an icon entry.
1) download the icon from the project page:

Seems to be jabref32.xpm still.
To be honnest, I believe that this bug also concerns the way Unity
renders icons. This all comes to the observation that, in Gnome-Shell,
this icon looks the right size, although a bit on the blurry side

I did not manage to identify repoductible steps for this bug, but it
still happens on a daily use. Again, a classic copy/paste or rename
entry in the context menu appears greyed out, although you can still
click on it and the action is eventually performed.

In Ubuntu 12.04, I have a repeatable crash of Transmission with the
following scenario:
1) Open a .torrent file
2) Set the Destination Folder manually by browsing it with the file manager.
3) Select a partition that is not mounted yet. The partition should be now
mounted.

transmission crashes when adding a torrent

In my case, I get a similar crash (same title in Apport than in this
bug) but it happens on both supsend/resume and cold boot. Not sure if I
should test the fix in -proposed or open a different bug report. My
machine is a Vostro V131 running 12.04. Please let me know what you
think I should do.
Can you reproduce the bug ? If so, could you please give an outline of
the steps that make it happen.

Xubuntu installer hangs if we download updates while
I could not reproduce this behaviour in a VM. Whatever option is checked
or unchecked in Preparing to install xubuntu the installer
successfully goes to the next step in a reasonable amount of time.
