[Bug 658004] Re: brasero dvd capacity estimation is broken
I tried ubuntu 17.10 (live) and it seems thing changed. When I try to test an ISO file, in the right click menu there is no more a "Write to Disc..." option. The closest thing is "Open With Disk Image Writer", which then ask for the destination drive, but does not allow the DVD unit (there is a blank DVD+RW inserted, displayed as so on the desktop) to be selected, it is greyed out. [Bug 1212480] [NEW] live: press enter message not visible
Public bug reported: Burned http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/saucy- desktop-i386.iso (downloaded an hour or two ago) to a DVD, then booted it. I selected Try Ubuntu. After a while I entered sudo reboot in an xterm. The system went down, ejected the DVD and the hung there. There were two lines of text on the screen, some part of the shutdown script. It did not say press return to continue as it used in older versions. I pressed the return key and it did continue and rebooted at the end. For apport details see bug 658042, I just run apport-collect there, before the reboot. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1212480 Title: live: press enter message not visible To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1212480/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

After one minute of DVD unit activity the disc was ejected and immediately pulled back in. Then again ejected and pulled back. And again. Then it was ejected and it stayed that way. After of complete 3 minutes and 20 seconds a new dialog appears, saying that the blanking is finished. In Windows it takes 10 seconds and zero ejects. This is reproducible.
