I found a fix for the issue.
While I am not sure what is causing it (firefox or ubuntu) the problem is in
the mimeTypes.rdf. delete the file while firefox is not running and the
problem is gone.

Installing linux-image-extra does the trick. I noticed it was installed for
the older images, but upgrading to -24/-25/-26 did not pull it.
Would be nice if I would not have to manually make sure the package is
installed in the future. And a keyboard driver should perhaps not reside in an

The patch fixes the issue of self-moving windows indeed. One exception: When
moving a window from one display to another display (multi head setup), the

It is *really* annoying that alt-f7 is reset to initiate move window.
When trying to change it via ccsm it is directly reset in the session. When

I can confirm this bug with Maverick and Lucid on Thinkpad T60 / radeon X1300.
Trying modeset/pll parameters, but it seems like random problems related to
firmware in the radeon card, memory layout of the machine or something else. (I
have two T60, one with 3GB and 64bit, the other one with 2GB
I really would like to, but even though I searched I could not identify the
offending image.
From the stacktrace when run with -v it looks like f-spot DOES detect that
the meta data looks bogus, but then does not handle the situation fully:

Currently 0.7.2 is in maverick and import from f-spot with 20.000 pictures
crashes my 8GB machine (out of memory). It seems that shotwell is leaking
memory when creating thumbnails.

Tested with Karmic dev version: Same problem here, Thinkpad T43 gets stuck to
lowest CPU speed as soon as CPU temperature is at 55C. Gets back to 2Ghz when
50C is reached.
Verified with cpufreq-info. Does not happen on Thinkpad T60.

I don't know about T60p (yet, will keep an eye on it).
My issue is T43 - worked with intrepid, fails with jaunty. I already checked if
it could be temperature related, since that was my first suspect. But it didn't
look like that.
If it's temperature related what software is causing this, where
I have the same problem with a Thinkpad T43. For some odd reasons it does not
happen with an almost identical T43 machine from a friend, who uses the same
ubuntu version.
Perhaps this is a hardware/firmware bug in the ipw nic?

Same hier - downgrade or -Xint fixes the problem. AMD64 dual core machine.
-Xint is really a serious performance hit.
I have crashes with other java applications (RSSowl), too - seems not to be
eclipse compiler related. And this is not the xinerama / x bug.
