Public bug reported:
The installer in 7.10 is extremely slow.
Every button click in the install wizard takes several seconds to respond. On a
modern system.
Steps:
- boot the 7.10 desktop i386 CD
- start the install wizard by clicking the Install icon on desktop
- click Next and observe how
Yes.
It is also very easy to reproduce: do any partitioning with the installer and
leave some disk space unpartitioned, then check that the extended partition
does not cover all disk space.

Check necessary ? OK, but slowdown ?
On a Core2 Duo 2GHz CPU it takes 1-2 seconds on simple screens

The above was on a HP Compaq nw8440 laptop (vesa gfx, no 3D effects).
On a PC with radeon 8500 (radeon driver, 3D effects) the bug does not
happen, as the window is not maximizable there.
Same thing in vmware (vmware0405 driver, no 3D), that is install wizard
can be maximized, but not restored
