I don't really get it. Your logfile shows that you upgraded likewise-
open, and upgrading it doesn't remove references in the PAM files.
Furthermore, removing likewise-open references would not prevent you
from logging in as a local user.
Note that you logfile shows that you modified the
apt-term.log would be fine. Thanks

I can't really reproduce that... Just did an upgrade and PAM files are
ok (package is upgraded, not removed). Could you post the contents of
your /var/log/dist-upgrade contents ? Thanks
