I have this exact same problem on my Thinkpad T23, running Lubuntu.
Video worked fine in 12.04, but after upgrade to 12.10, graphics are
corrupted and unusable. I tried upgrading again to 13.04 and the

What exactly is not working? Video playback (XV) or simply not being
able to anything on the screen? Is it the same symptoms as in bug
#1083032?

The X is screwed up, incorrect display on the screen. There are four
large stripes and nothing recognizable when the DM is launched. However
the splash screen with lubuntu and the four dots does come up correctly.
Immediately after this splash screen, the display is garbled. Yes, similar
