Without knowing the detail of your system, it’s hard to tell but I suspect it is your memory settings.  On a Mac, open OO and check the memory setting under Preferences in the left-hand pane.  I have 20MB set for mine and I never crash.  Don’t know where the setting is on Windows/Linux. On
