Hello Isaac, Thanks for your email, and for your interest in OpenOffice.org. There's no way to just download Writer, although you could download the whole suite and just install Writer. There are reasons for this, but suffice to say, you just can't do it. There is hope, however. AbiWord is a program that, like OpenOffice.org, is free, open source, cross-platform, MS-compatiblity, and can create ODF files. Thank You I suggest you order a CD containing OOo (OpenOffice.org) from the list found in this part of OOo's web site: http://distribution.openoffice.org/cdrom/index.html#cdrom. If you know someone who has a broad band connection, see i f they will download it for you and burn it to a CD. This is a second option. OOo is a single program with components.
