This article promotes the metric system in the U.S. and points out the
shortcomings of what we use here in America.
When you are done click opinions and look for the poll on whether or not
the U.S. should go metric. Be sure to vote, and notice how the vote is

At least the rest of the web site is metric. Dimensions in millimeters
and weight in grams.
I am pleased to see another American company use metric units.

Going back to metric, I explored the paper's web site. I couldn't
resist checking the weather site to see what an Australian weather
report looks like. As expected temperatures were in Celsius, but
noticed winds were in knots and pressure were in hPa, not kPa. I was
surprised to see knots
Funny,
Isn't Myanmar(Burma) a solcialist or communist country?
They are one of the last hold outs.
So much for the metric/socialism connection.

The legislation is a step in the right direction. It would more clearly
define responsiblity for avoiding confusion over units. However, I
would like the legislation to go a step farther. There needs to be an
intention of phasing out old inch/gallon/pound units. The language is
not strong
I watched a program on the National Geographic Channel on locusts. I
noticed that they were giving both FFU and metric units. I have seen
many threads in this forum complaining about NG magazine not using
metric units. Could this be a new trend, or is this an isolated incident?
I was a member for a year. I was disappointed to learn that they do not
lobby congress for conversion to metric. Without a government mandate I
think that we will continue to drift between metric and U.S. Imperial
units. The government needs to lead the way and they are not doing
that. I
To their credit, Accuweather lets you change all stats to metric. I
have seen many cases where I take the metric option for local weather,
but the forecasts remain in U.S. imperial, and you cannot change the
forecast to metric. Weather underground is a classic example of this.

I visited the Liberia site and checked on their climate. I saw
USI(Metric) units. In other articles I did find miles without reference

I recently sent this link that shows where each state is at on metricating

Hello
I prefer to call our collection of units U.S. imperial (or American
imperial).
I think we need to convey that these units did originate from British
royalty.
This conveys this while acknowledging that the units used in the U.S. are
somewhat diffeent from their current British counterparts. This

I have a better idea if we are changing calendars:
13 months of 4 weeks.
The first 12 months have 28 days, the 13th month has 29. Month 13 will have
30 on leap years. This will mean that all the dates of the month will be on
the same day of the week. Months are as evenly divided as possible.
I was wondering about the status of metrics and highway construction. In
Yahoo's Metric America site someone mentioned that the FWHA is now requiring
all states to go back to US Imperial units in road construction. Is this
true? If not, are there any states still using metric in road

This is from 1999. I wonder if demand has fallen for metric fasteners by
now, since most states have reverted road construction back to english
