The '85 at least, has 4 pickup coils with a common ground, 5 wires in all, triggered by protrusions on the flywheel. The v-4 on a V-Max/Venture/Royal Star is an uneven firing engine: no two pistons rise and fall together. If memory serves, the firing spacing is 180-250-180-110 degrees. It
