Log name has nothing to do with the log file name. It has to do with what vpopmail calls itself to syslog. Don't put .log, just vpopmail should be sufficient, you can setup syslog in /etc/syslog.conf to log vpopmail stuff to it's own log file. It's possible that invalid log name might be

I solved the problem!! the tcprules app for some reason updates the /etc/tcp.smtp.cdb database and not the one in /home/vpopmail/etc as described in th FAQ so i changed in the run sript for tcprules to use the one in the /etc dir and then it worked as it should do... If this is not right someone
