I have VNC Server 3.3.7.0 installed on a XP machine (SP1). A user is
connecting via VPN into the site from his home Windows ME computer using the
VNC client of the same version.
Frequently the VNC Server on the XP machine causes an error and crashes the

the server screen not showing -for security reasons- what I am doing from
the client side).
Any pointer ?

The problem is this bit:
visual id:0x2a
class:PseudoColor
depth:8 planes

red, green, blue masks:0x0, 0x0, 0x0
significant bits in color specification:8 bits
It claims to have 8 planes (bits) but only gives you 224
The short answer is Not yet.
The longer answer is that it hasn't been done yet, since it currently
*can't* be done. However, the new multi-user functionality of Panther
(Mac OS X 10.3) could open the way to this functionality. It would
require some server side code changes (probably
For a secure connection, is there anything other the SSH or VNC that
doesn't require installation. Using Internet Cafe's etc, installing software

Is it possible to have multiple machines sitting behind a Linksys, each

can individually select and connect to these different machines? I think I

Hi,
I've installed VNC server on my RH9 server. Installed Ok, and seems to
work fine, I just have a few questions. What is the default port VNC

firewall.
How do I use VNC through my firewall?
