Hello,
I compiled TightVNC Viewer from the source code from tightvnc.com under MSVC++ 6.0 in
Win98 and found that it doesn't work - when i try to connect to vnc server, it asks
for password, then initializes, then shows remote computer for a second, and ... bummm
closes without any messages.
We are in an hospital medical/health environnment so we need to secure all
workstations.
On Win9x, VNC login authorisation question (accepte/decline) was foreground
the winlogon screen but on Windows XP this VNC question doesn't pass
foreground the winlogon so the only solution is to not ask

I bulided the source in my machine for both WinVNC VncViewer, If i execute
the both EXE's, the WinVNC in my machine crashes.
It says color2 variable used before getting defined.

An update, its still not working, but I tried going the opposite way and connecting to
my work computer from home and it works fine. I closed anything that could be slowing
the connection and i'm still getting that same error. If anyone has any suggestions

thanks
Me again, I did get it fixed, it was a router issue because I had 2 routes (5800
5900) both called VNC, apparently my router needs them to be named distinctly

VNC2 everything is working great!! I hope this may
It would be nice if you could tell us the brand and model of your router so
the solution could be more specific when it's entered into the FAQ.
Thanks

I downloaded the source distro for RealVNC, but was unable to find the source for the
Java viewer. Does anyone know where the Java viewer source is? Did I just miss it?
I found a set of .class files, but no .java files.

VNC server supports protocol version 3.3
Judge,
Yes, VNC 3.3.7 supports disabling of the server's keyboard and mouse while a
connection is active, as will the next VNC 4.0 release.
Cheers,
Wez @ RealVNC Ltd.
