Have you tried to disable it momentarily? OTOH, you haven't told us the

What you're asking is quite hard to accomplish. Not only VNC can't do so, I
don't think any other similar software (PCAnywhere, eg) could do that either.
Actually, do you just want to share the application? If so, maybe you could
try to share the directory containing the Excel

By default, VNC 3.3.3 doesn't bind to a particular IP address, even though
it only shows one of the machine's addresses in the try icon.
Have you actually tried just connecting using the public address?

I would have thought that it should be fairly easy to accomplish. Just get
the bounds of the window that you want to share.
Isn't this the way netmeeting does this? Netmeeting allows you to share
individual apps.

Do you mean every machine inside your LAN has a corresponding public IP
address? That means there is a NAT? Or at least, your machine has a corresponding

Tim,
Have you checked that the VNC port (5900 in this case) is not being blocked
for the external IP by any firewall settings? I assume that the external IP
is the IP of a network card in that machine, rather than the IP of a NAT
router or cable modem?

I was wondering if there has been any new registry keys added/dropped/changed from the

I looked through the documentation but it doesn't specifically say any registry keys.

Hola. What you are trying to do does not work with most DSL
routers. That is, from a PC behind the router, you will not be
able to access a VNC Server that's also behind the router using
the router's external IP address. That sort of looping just isn't
supported by most DSL
