I must say agree with the idea of adding a (very basic) chat option to VNC. To be honest, the reason why I joint this mailing list was to discuss this matter. Netsend isn't always an option and notepad isn't effective at all when connected to a remote computer with a very slow internet (modem)

There are thousands ways to chat between 2 computers. Even windows has the standard netmeeting. There are many web sites where you can chat from the browser (fancy java or plain html). By the way what company policy forbids netmeeting but allows vnc ?! P.S. About bloat: there is a need for a chat
