On Windows 2003 boxes, VNC appears to occasionally cause the login screen
(once you hit control-alt-delete) to appear with all inputs grayed out. I
have a screenshot if anyone wants to see it. Through a partner of mine, I
have opened a case with Microsoft, and have actually reached a real live

You say that Microsoft have pinpointed the problem to be interaction
between VNC and the GINA.DLL or MSGINA.DLL files. If they have
pinpointed the problem to such an interaction then they must know what
that interaction is and how they can fix it, surely?
VNC Server for Windows does not

we just tried to work with TightVNC 1.9 and now with RealVNC 3.3.7 and
both gave the same problem connecting to a Windows 2003 Server.
We got the black screen not on any connect but on the most of the tries.
I changed the error handling to restart service, but no change.
What can we do to
Do you, par chance, use TS at the same time? Try VNC4beta.

Mr. Weatherall and I have done some troubleshooting from the
VNC Server 4 side and it seems to be working now. We did
discuss your mail briefly and there was some confusion. In
the errors you reported on the 14th, was the Win2003 machine
the VNC server or the VNC viewer?

There was a post asking if VNC is working fine under Windows 2003. Well, my
answer to this question is definitively It works, but not perfectly.
I've come across these problems several times :
1) I started the viewer, entered the hostname, entered the password and then nothing
