In the early days Rossi mentioned that heat is largely produced by
particles absorbed by the lead shielding, mentioning gamma radiation that
he had in mind.
How much is known about shielding requirements of muons (or related sub
particles)?

The shield of 1/2 mile depth of earth is a sufficient.

The muons are coming out of a sample cold rust doped with potassium that is
kept in the dark. Where does the fusion fit in there?

Some part of the reaction yields thermal energy (low xrays, which are
absorbed in any material within nanometers). Some jump straight to muon
formation.
I think those gamma detected are not really an issue. They are probably
generated when 8 deuterium gather to form O16, according to Akito Model. It
may that, instead of emitting many shorth xrays rays due a highly
anisotropic perturbation of 8 deuterium fusing simmultenously, what happens

Isn't he talking about ultra dense deuterium? That's the basis of his work.
I made some calculations. I guess it fits his results:
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=+++8*+mass+of+Deuterium+-+mass+of+O16+-+mass+of+muon
The end result is a muon with a kinetic energy of 4 MeV.
A little premature don't you think? If this kind of radiation is produced in
abundance then the industry is dead for most applications.

How much is too much? There is a wise truism: Moderation in all things.
How many muons is too many? Does a LENR test reactor produce too many
subatomic particles, how about a 1 megawatt plant, how adout a 10 or 100
megawatt plant? What is the limit for safe exposure to muons?
Is it wise to sit in
LENR thermalizes gamma rays into heat, but how far does the safety zone of
LENR thermalization occur? If Rossi sits outside that zone of LENR
protection, does his body feel gamma radiation from muon decay? What is the
cross section for that gamma decay inside Rossi?

Ultraviolet light is not dangerous is small amounts, it even makes vitamin

Electrons do not catalyze fusion, but muons do. If muons enter the body and
catalyze some fusion, is that a good thing for one;s health? You tell me, I
don't know.
The answer might have something to do with the probability cross section of
the reaction. If 10^^26 muons are penetrating the body,
I don't know about the cross section of muons. But, given the enormous
energy, if those are discharged within some millenniums, it won't be a
problem
