Solutions for this problem are;
1. make music files read only
2. input ro in mount command
3. use symbolic link

I'm not clear about how you confirmed the NAS files were deleted, did
you use an independent method to confirm that (like log onto the NAS and
look at the file system location) or do you just mean you're not seeing
them in the database on mpd client any more?
