with http://survey.whatcanido.com.au/
specifically starting on page two of the survey, Questions2.fuel. The issues
are pretty clearly visible. Any assistance with generally improving the pages

Hi Cole,
As far as I know there is not, probably because browsers have different
implementations of CSS properties. I think that best way to do it is to
know the CSS properties and which elements they theoretically apply to
and then experiment.
Take your example - padding: 0; - for instance
Thanks for the explanation Roberto, as well as the link.

Hi y'all,
I rewrote part of my site at the weekend and coded XHTML examples in pre

The width of the content area is 400px.
I need to display examples of code that are wider.
Keeping the white space is very useful too.
Example:

Hi,
most problems occur because people do not create good/logical datatables. Also
in this case it is not logical to put columnheaders at different places within
a datatable. A simple solution here is to use a row header instead of the
column header. The subheaders span all the columns, so it

Hi Wayne,
The problem you face in IE is that its box model is slightly differently
implemented than the other browsers. In your case it means that the
spotlight box on the left is larger than you expect it to be and it pushes
the hubs div down. Change the hubs CSS file to use 90% width for the
Removing width: 100%;, fixes the problem in IE, but causes the table
to shift to the left in Mozilla/Firefox and Opera.
I changed the margin on /#main #hubs table/ to be 0 for top/bottom and
auto for the sides.
This seems to fix all the problems.
Final, Edited CSS from /hubs.css/:

Thanks to all that helped save the few remaining strands of hair left
on my head! I'll implement this and see what happens. I'm still a bit
confused as to why the left div, which has only a structural width
applied to it, would affect the main column? There is no padding,
margins or border

I use a 'single right-pointing angle quotation'
