The oldest PC I still routinely run WSJT-X with has a CPU with the
following specs (from the control panel systems tab)
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU P9300@2.26Ghz 2.27 Ghz
64 bit Operating System
The PC in question is a Panasonic Tough book that I use during portable use
and roving.

I will say I agree with the concerns expressed by Alan G0TLK about USB
enumeration. For that and other reasons I am hesitant to use additional
USB devices while engaging in portable operation or roving.

Thanks for all the efforts that the dev team has put into the latest
version of WSJT-X. I have started doing my pre June VHF contest
preparations and noted some odd behaviour at times when using CAT control
with one of my Icom 706MkiiG's.When switching between 50 Mhz and 144
and 432 Mhz,
be reasonable, excessive or inadequate ? (I realize in addition to
any frequency drift from my equipment the drift from the radio at the other end
of the link and any Doppler shift introduced by the propagation mode will also
be relevant.)

Over two hours after an un successful MSK144 attempt with KE0LLH on 144
Mhz, this decode showed up on my screen.
040445 -8 2.4 1704 & R+03
Normally I wouldn't pay much attention to this but in this case I had
decode set to "Normal" (rather than "Deep".) The other station had
previously
from CN89.

but I can't see any reason why testing on HF wouldn't work as a plan B ?

Running FT8 on 7.078. Both the always generate 77 bit messages and the
the Only decode 77 bit messages dialog boxes were selected. Neither Fox
nor Hound mode was enablled. Using a lenovo lapton running windows 10.
Finished a QSO with WY4D,
Then decoded a CQ from WY4D
Immediately after

Left my computer / radio monitoring 7.078 FT8. Both the always generate 77
bit messages and the the Only decode 77 bit messages dialog boxes were
selected.
Came back to the computer and observed the folloing error indication:
*Subprocess Error*
*Subprocess failed with exit code 2*
To recap things began working again when I double clicked on a CQ message (as
opposed to calling CQ my self.)
Subsequently I was able to call CQ and another station responded to my CQ
message.
I have been unable to reproduce the error.

While running in Hound mode, if I manually enter a frequency into the into
the frequency dialog box (above the RX level indicator) the program enables
TX mode (as soon as I press the enter key.) If I disable Hound mode, this
behavior disappears. The radio
s. The free message function along with the power
slider meets my needs. To recap the "free message" function doesn't seem to be
available in hound mode.
Not a big issue but I thought I would mention this for future consideration.
