One issue with the released tarball though is no LICENSE or COPYING file
indicating the license of its contents.

it depends which version of FF Uli is using. Mozilla switched to Skia by
default some time ago. The Xrender backend was available for the long
time. In the recent versions this option is only their for backward
compatibility, Xrender backend is not supported in FF anymore.
