I added the -debug to the commandline options via the menu and when I
restarted x2goclient it fails with the error window popup "X.Org Server did
not launch correctly after 4 tries. Please check your installation."
Frustratingly, it won't let me go into the same menu and remove the -debug
The .x2go folder doesn't contain any text files containing the -debug
option.
I'm at a loss as to how to correct this situation.

Well I'm very confused now, I thought I could see a pattern but I
can't. I'll report what I have discovered so far though.
I'm running x2gclient 4.1.2.2 (as installed from the Ubuntu
repositories) on my xubuntu 20.10 laptop. I'm running the server on my
xubuntu 20.10 desktop machine, again just

It's what comes 'out of the box' when you install x2go server on
[x]ubuntu 20.10.

Well my python installation works for loads of other python 3
programs, I have a pretty standard system,
It would be easier to try installing on
There is no .x2goclient folder on my (Windows 10) system under my home
folder.

Also have a look at the .x2goclient folder.

I've recently upgraded my system to xubuntu 20.10 and x2go sessions
now crash the xfwm4 window manager. After restarting xfwm4 from a
terminal window I see the following crash report when I run another
x2go session:-
xfwm4:15183): Gdk-ERROR **: 11:27:33.867: The program 'xfwm4' received
Having fixed the missing python3-invoke module pyhoca-cli now crashes
in all sorts of other ways on my xubuntu 20.10 system.
These sessions run fine when called from x2goclient, I just want to script them
in order to run a couple of things before the x2go session.
This is calling an xfce
I tend to blame xfwm4. The error message also points to that direction...
When does this happen? Before starting a session? While starting a
session? During a session?

It looks like a broken python installation. Can you try to reinstall python3?

I just installed (using synaptic, i.e. apt) pyhoca-cli on my xubuntu
20.10 system and it dies with a ModuleNotFoundError :-

I am running x2goclient on my laptop and the x2go server is on my
dekstop, both systems are running xubuntu 20.10.
Running an xfce session works perfectly but running a single
application session doesn't. It appears to work until the application
pops up momentarily and then disappears. The
The corresponding code is this:
fprintf(stderr, "%s: WARNING! Failed to convert remote window
[%ld] importing property [%ld]"
" of type WM_STATE", __func__, (long int)
wmState.icon, (long int) property);
So the whole second line is missing in your output which is strange at
You can run x2goclient with -debug to get more output.

Hmm, what version of nxagent are you using?

Info: keyboard blocking directory created:
'/home/chris/.x2go/C-chris-50-1610816188_stRdigikam_>
Also shows this strange ">" where a number is expected. You are also
reporting a crashing window manager. So _maybe_ your system(s) suffer
from RAM defects. Can you please run a memtest?

For some reason the automounted shared folder is no longer being shared.
Moreover, manually mounting doesn't work either.
Yet there are no error messages in the X2Go CLient status window (Session
ID:... Server:... Username:... Display:... Creation time (is blank?) and
Status running).
