I have mentioned before that I think we need a test suite for the mime data in shared-mime-info. Some time ago I started working on such a thing, and I have now put the unfinished result up at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5210 It needs xdgmime to work, and you'll have to hack
