I figured that the internal compiler error was likely related to an
optimization bug since the code looks pretty simple and direct. I'm doing
a build with the optimization relaxed to see if that was the culprit.

No, I'm definitely building for 32 bit mips. I suspect either an
optimization related issue, or I still don't have something properly

on the NVidia GeForce FX Go 5200 chip. This is the graphics card shipping
in the new PowerBook G4 12 1GHz machines. I am running the CVS snapshot
