Turned out that the we where not using the shape extension correctly and
the Xine window was completely covered.
We have changed the code and have correctly shaped windows. However we don't
know how to change the shape of a shaped window without using the sequence
XUnmapWindow( m_display,

I just upgraded my Slackware 9.0 / XFree86-4.3.0 notebook to
XFree86-4.4.0. The upgrade went well and just about everything works.
The only problem I have is non-system fonts in Mozilla.
For example, when I load Google, the fonts are not visible. If there is
a link I get just a thin blue

update-alternatives --config x-session-manager
update-alternatives --config x-window-manager
Here you can choose which to start as default when typing startx in the console.
