: succeeded It looks like fontconfig 2.2.0 and changing the font path order actually did the trick for most apps - mozilla seems to be particularly insistent, and I'll have to track down how to change that. (I also do have a build with --disable-xft --disable-freetype and it works as well) -- Ross
