The XF86Config file that got generated was probably for version 3 of X and you're running version 4 from startx...or something like that. I'm not clear on how rh7.3 chooses between them. Redhat puts the X config at the end of the setup though, so the rest of your install is probably ok - you

You should probably post your config file. Leshka K wrote: Parse error on line 9 of section ServerLayout in file /etc/X11/XF86Config is not a valid keyword in this section. ___ XFree86 mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[XFree86] sample radeon7500 dual-head config?

2003-03-17 Thread Trever Furnish
I've stared at the radeon manual page from 4.2.99.902 for quite a while now and tried a few things, but I don't think I'm getting the config quite right to tell X that I want to use both ports of my dvi/vga radeon7500 in xinerama mode. Anyone have a working config file you could share? I'm

Well, my replying to you definitely qualifies as the blind leading the blind, but perhaps you should use the radeon driver for your radeon7500 as well. I'm currently typing this message on an X display powered by a radeon7500 (64MB, PCI) using the radeon driver on X4.2.99.902 (aka 4.3.0 rc2).

I wish I could help - maybe then I could help myself. I have a system with similar symptoms. I've even explicitely set the hsync and vsync - ie I put in only one value for each, not a range - and it doesn't seem to help. On the other hand, xvidtune claims it's not actually running at
