It is a 32-bit version. This worked for about one week or so without
problems okay until yesterday.
There was not much to do for xmail since there were only 2 domains with
together about 10 accounts on this server.

Yes as Leonardo has stated I can use the sendmail command in XMail.
However this will only work on the XMail machine; if I send a message from
another server using the mail utility the problem still exists.
