possible.
You can download a patch against xmame-0.56.2 from
http://x.mame.net/download/0.59.2-0.60.1.diff.bz2
root.users /your/xmame/executable/file (it's important root is the
owner !)
chmod 4755 /your/xmame/executable/file
exit
Then try again as a normal user...
Hope this helps,

But THIS requires that glide 3 is NOT compiled for DRI !!! So there's

Hmmm, then could this be because my xmame outputs a few extra

And BTW, this is an ongoing project...

That's really kind of you... I have a fairly complete set as well, perhaps we

If so, I'd say this is a bug ! It should NOT redirect stderr/stdout ouptput
in any way, because this makes the output useless for others... i. e. for
frontends.
Please clearify !

Hi all !
I tried xmame-0.58.1 today. The x11 target compiles and runs fine,

Yes, that's a real bug... I see this with xgl at least (since several
versions; I'm currently using xmame 0.55.2).
Tip: pressing left then right (cursor keys) is the same as OK !
