Another question: My MoBo has a JMB (363 I think) SATA controller. I know
support is included now in sxce, but I don't know for s10U6.
I answer myself:
I tries S10u6 and the Jmicron AHCI controller is not recognized. I tried the
install check CD and it's weird: it lists the controller as
Hi,
As I was experimenting with snv101, I discovers that every attempt to create
a zpool gives this error:
#zpool create pool1 c1d1s0
invalid vdev specification
use '-f' to override the following errors:
/dev/dsk/c1d1s0 overlaps with /dev/dsk/c1d1s2
I am testing with vmware, so I used the same
So it's safe to use the pool after forcing its creation. Good.
i was surprised to see it working properly in snv77 but not in snv101.
Thank you,
Vincent

Hi,
If Zone Cloning via ZFS snapshots is the only feature you miss in S10u6,
then you should reconsider. Writing a script to implement this yourself
will require only a little experimentation.
It is the only feature I miss now, because it is the only one I know of,
because I don't know
I just found this: http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/whats_new.jsp
I lists Solaris 10 features and is a first hint at what features are in.

Silly me,

readme page.

Hi,
Have a look at the bugids in the patches for S10U6, like the kernel patch
137137-09. There are lists of all the new patches in the documentation for
the release at docs.sun.com.
Thank you for the hint, but I can only see the patches and not the bugid
description as I don't have any

Hi everyone,
I will shortly install a ZFS Home Server and I am wondering which version I
should install.
I will use zones on my server and heavily use zone cloning, so I think it
rules out S10U6.
I also ruled out Indiana because of the lack of normal zones.
So I will be using SXCE. Which version
Thanks for your input.
Is there somewhere a comparison of the features in the latest SXCE,
Solaris10 and Indiana ?

Hi everyone,

A directory (chmod 0755) contains 3 subdirs: public, private an veryprivate
public has read access to everyone (0755)
