Well, the drives technically didn't malfunction. Like I said, the reason why I had to pull the drives out is because 70 lbs is a little TOO much for me to be able to lift. The drives aren't more than 3 weeks old, with a DOM of Jul 2006. Is there anything that I can do to find out how the

Hi, Like what matt said, unless there is a bug in code, zfs should automatically figure out the drive mappings. The real problem as I see is using 16 drives in single raidz... which means if two drives malfunction, you're out of luck. (raidz2 would survive 2 drives... but still I believe 16
