Hello,
I am trying to create my first package using ebuild.
I've created ebuild file pum-outss-1.0.0.ebuild in directory
/var/db/repos/pum-outss/dev-python/pum-outss
The file pum-outss-1.0.0.ebuild has following content:
EAPI=7
DESCRIPTION="Exchange data between PUM and OUTSS"
] dev-cpp/pangomm-2.40.1 USE="-doc"
| [ebuild N ] dev-cpp/gtkmm-2.24.5 USE="-doc -examples {-test}"
| [ebuild N ] dev-java/icedtea-bin-3.3.0 USE="alsa cups gtk webstart -doc

Can I use the following method to restore the original text format of
/var/log/messages?
1. Boot rescue system and mount main system
2. # cd /mnt/main/var/

prevent one of those packages from being selected. However, it is also
possible that conflicting dependencies exist such that they are
impossible to satisfy simultaneously. If such a conflict exists in
the dependencies of two different packages, then those packages can
not be installed simul
age tree. What ever you

with that sed. It gets
the version that would be installed rather that what is installed...
This should work:
# cd /var/db/pkg && \
emerge -peq system | sed -n 's|^\[ebuild[^]]*\] \([^ $]\+\).*$|\1|p' | \
sed -r 's/-[^-]+(-r[0-9]+)*$//' | while read pkg; do
to avoid unnecessary recompilation in this case?
Edit /var/db/pkg/cat/pkg-version/USE. This file contains the USE flags
the package was built with, editing it to match the changed flags fools
portage into thinking a re-compilation is not available.
Alternatives are don't use --newuse with emerge

Sorry - a consequence of moving away from a proper mail client, and on to a

Hello.
Since this morning, I find that I can no longer add SSH keys to the
ssh key agent. I'm using Gnome 2.22, so I think seahorse would be
used instead.

Could not open a connection to your authentication agent.
No good :(
Per man ssh-add(1):

Ha, brain-fart today. I see you already tried that. You can try
--onlydeps. Check out man emerge
