SIMPLE WAY TO AVOID DIALOG LIST SYNONYM BLUES | Ingvar Engelbrecht

When using synonyms in a Dialog List field, the synonyms will be
displayed in a view. But in reality, you might want to see the values
displayed when looking at the field on the form. The solution
suggested in the Notes help pages suggest a "backwards" translation
in the column for the view. Not elegant. Instead, create a hidden
text field that is editable. In the Querysave event, get the value
from the original field and store it in the hidden field. Use the
hidden field in the view.

DEVELOPER FORUM | SearchDomino.com

One user writes,
"I have an item catalogue kind of a database. In one of the forms
there is a RT field which contains images of the particular item....
imported into Notes using File Import.
How can I show in a Item Listing view whether a item/document
contains a image or not. Will I have to use some field validation in
the form. And if yes...how can I validate the RT field. Which
contains just the image?"
