Unfortunately "better support" doesn't mean full support... I've included some of your hints to correctly build the packages, but since I've not a ppc64 architecture (yet) I've never tested it. There's still the problem with autoinstallscript.conf that can be manually adjusted (for the PREP flag and swap partitions). Moreover also the zImage must be manually generated via mkzimage from kernel+initrd.img, but this is a minor problem. Other old problems should be all fixed. Unfortunately without a testing environment it's very difficult for me to fix and include the missing things...
