Yes the manual is a bit dated, we're trying to get it updated.

There are some updated information available at our wiki:

http://wiki.systemimager.org

boot-standard contains the boot binaries (kernel, initrd.img,
boel_binaries) that are used to boot up your nodes, so this needs to be
installed on the server as they will be accessed by the clients either
via tftp or via the CD-ROM that you can create.

The initrd_template is the ramdisk template which is used to generate
the UYOK ramdisk. This needs to be installed on the client and is
needed when you run si_prepareclient (si_prepareclient uses UYOK by
default, you can disable it by --no-uyok). For more information about
UYOK, see:

http://wiki.systemimager.org/index.php/UYOK

Actually you could figure out where these RPMs need to be installed by
querying the RPM with the '--requires' flag. boot-standard requires
systemimager-server and initrd_template requires systemimager-client.

I don't think I get exactly what you mean... can you please elaborate?

Cheers,
