The version you are using (3.7.3 right?) doesn't support 2.4 module
loading. From busybox config:

# CONFIG_FEATURE_2_4_MODULES is not set

The fix will be present in 3.7.4, available soon. Otherwise if you can't
wait try with my last RPMs (in particular the
systemimager-i386initrd_template):

http://download.systemimager.org/~arighi/systemimager/

The RPMs are built for SuSE, but if you don't use the bittorrent
transport they should work fine.
